Having to do back to back Weekend Box Office posts, as I was tied up the past two weeks! Sorry! =)
The premiere of The Day the Earth Stood Still attracted a big crowd, earning a respectable $30.5 million. I myself look forward to seeing it despite a lot of anger of it being a remake of a sci-fi classic.
Four Christmases, last week’s box office leader, was knocked off the top by The Day the Earth Stood Still, and earned $13.1 million, slightly less than last week’s earnings.
Familiar faces Twilight, Bolt and Australia continue to hang on in the top five, but it will be interesting to see how much longer we’ll see them on the list. My guess is not long, with all these new and anticipated films premiering in the next couple of weeks.
